Prince Abdul Qader was influenced by three different cultural sources; as he has become familiar with the ancient Pharaonic civilization, and its literature, culture and art. He was particularly influenced by the human and legal aspects thereof. He was also influenced by the vibrant Islamic civilization, and has assimilated its arts and sciences, especially the aspect of coexistence and tolerance therein. He also stood on the symbols of Islamic culture, which have set the most fascinating examples of love and tolerance culture, in war as in peace; such as Saladin Al-Ayoubi and Sheik Mohi Al-Din Ibn Arabi. This civilization influenced his thinking and behavior in war and peace. He also showed a deep insight into the civilization of the West, a powerful and superior civilization, which he realized it lacked the spiritual aspect. He therefore dedicated to it his distinguished intellectual eternal book: ""Warning the Inattentive and Reminding the Sane"", in which he emphasized the lack of spirituality in Western civilization, as well as the lack ofmateriality in Eastern civilization. For humanity to live a balanced life, it must be based on both spiritual and material aspects.
All of this was the fruit of his unique stance of humanity and tolerance, either in his war against the French army in Algeria, and in his dialogue with intellectuals in France itself, during his prison years; or in protecting Christians in Damascus when they took refuge in his support.
